RUGBY – Nigeria finish in top 8 at Las Vegas invitational

Nigeria’s Women’s Rugby team lost 12-17 to Rocky Mountain in the quarter-final of the Las Vegas invitation, but still finished in the top 8.

The selected side opened their USA Invitational Sevens campaign on a good note with a 42-0 win against New Mexico U.

However, they lost against a very good Phoenix side and narrowly lost 15-17 to Chicago Lions Black; but reached the quarter finals.

Nigeria is looking forward to participate in the Africa Women’s Sevens 2019 which also doubles as 2020 Olympic qualifiers.

The last time a Nigerian Women’s side participated in any international competition was in 2010, where they lost narrowly to Tunisia in the final.
