Rosemary Chukwuma Added to World Athletics International Testing Pool

Nigerian sprinter, Rosemary Chukwuma has been added to the World Athletics International Registered Testing Pool.

According to the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU), Chukwuma becomes the eighth Nigerian athlete named in the updated list.

Athletes competing at the highest level are included in the Testing Pool, where they are subject to random drug tests to ensure compliance with anti-doping regulations.

Chukwuma made headlines in May when she ran a personal best of 10.88 seconds in Fayetteville, Arkansas, becoming only the second Nigerian woman to legally break the 10.90-second barrier.

This performance places her second on Nigeria’s all-time list, just behind Blessing Okagbare, who holds the national record at 10.79 seconds.

Other Nigerians in the updated testing pool include 100m hurdles world champion and record holder Tobi Amusan, long jump medalist Ese Brume, shot putter Chukwuebuka Enekwechi, and long jumper Ruth Usoro.

Favour Ofili, Nigeria’s 200m record holder both indoors (22.11) and outdoors (21.96), as well as 400m hurdles record holder Ezekiel Nathaniel, are also on the list.

All athletes in the testing pool are subject to random testing at any time to ensure adherence to the sport’s integrity standards.
