Former Milan attacking midfielder Ronaldinho will stand for the Senate in his native Brazil in 2018.
The Ballon d’Or winner spent three seasons with the Rossoneri, scoring 26 goals in 95 games before winding down his career.
Now O Globo has revealed that Ronaldinho will run for office next year, for Jair Bolsonaro’s Social Christian Party.
The former Barça star is waiting for Bolsonaro to make his candidature official, which will happen in March 2018, but he’s already been pictured with the politician, posing with his book.
Ronaldinho will be standing for election in the state of Minas Gerais, O Globo reports.
Bolsonaro is running for President, but is a controversial character due to his views on same-sex marriage, capital punishment and military policy.
He has compared himself to US President Donald Trump, and has been condemned for comments about women and the gay community.
