Super Eagles Technical Adviser, Gernot Rohr has confirmed that Ikechukwu Ezenwa will start against Cameroon on Friday in the first leg 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier.
Ezenwa is the second goalkeeper and will step in for Daniel Akpeyi who picked up an injury during training on Thursday and has been ruled out for Friday’s match by team doctors.

“I am very happy, it only goes to show that all the hard work I have put in all these months have been worth it,” said Ajiboye, who has been capped by Nigeria at U17, U20 and U23 levels.
“I had already given up hope of making the squad after I was not picked last week.”
The former Warri Wolves and Shooting Stars shot stopper has been Ezenwa’s cover with the CHAN Eagles.
He is expected to join the Eagles training camp in Uyo later today.
He is now the third NPFL player in the training camp for the Cameroon showdown. Besides Ezenwa, Akwa United midfielder Ifeanyi Ifeanyi is also part of the squad in Uyo.
