Rohr Lauds Super Eagles Attitude After Comeback Win Against Benin

Super Eagles’ Technical Adviser Gernot Rohr has praised the attitude of his side following their come-from-behind 2-1 win against Benin on Wednesday in Uyo.

Stephane Sessegnon put the visitors in front as early as the second minute while Victor Osimhen’s spotkick on the stroke of halftime restored parity for Nigeria before Samuel Kalu’s 62nd minute strike gave Super Eagles maximum points.

Rohr was impressed with the performance of his side and hailed their response after going behind.

“Benin Republic are good team, we knew what they did in the Afcon but our attitude was good,” Rohr said in a press conference.

“I’m happy with the result, to come back and win. Good to see competitions among the players.”

The result puts Nigeria on top of Group L with three points after one game with the other group game ending in a 1-all draw between Sierra Leone and Lesotho.

The Super Eagles will travel to Maseru to battle the Crocodiles in their second group game on Sunday.
