Former Super Eagles head coach, Gernot Rohr has expressed optimism about the quality of strikers in the squad, emphasizing their potential to lead the team to success at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Rohr identified the strength of the Super Eagles as the attack line led by Victor Osimhen as the team gears up for the AFCON.

The French man believes that the combination of the strikers, supported by a stable midfield, can contribute to Nigeria’s success in the tournament.

“Nigeria is one of the favourites, of course,” Gernot Rohr told journalist Osasu Obayiawana. “The strikers are fantastic. They need stability to be complete.”

He also emphasized the importance of stability for the team’s overall performance, particularly in the midfield’s ability to provide direct and effective support to the strikers.

“The midfield can find the strikers with direct football, sometimes you have to take risks.”
