Former Super Eagles manager Gernot Rohr expressed his happiness at reuniting with his former team when his current side faced the Nigeria.

Rohr, who was head coach of the Super Eagles for five years, orchestrated a 2-1 victory over Nigeria.

Reflecting on the encounter, Rohr said, “My former boys, I’m always happy to meet them again. But then on the pitch, of course, there is no friendship.”

He also gave his opinion on the competitive nature of the match.

“Everybody wants to win and do well. They did well in the beginning, but then I think our fighting spirit, our organization, and also the standard situation, the corners, we did very well and this could bring us our victory,” He told Brila Media.

The victory is significant boost for Rohr’s side as they sit top of the table with eight points from four matches.
