Benin Republic Men’s football coach, Gernot Rohr has stated that there is more to playing against Nigeria than results.
Rohr will face his former team, the Super Eagles, in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers with the team’s drawn in Group C along side South Africa, Zimbabwe, Rwanda and Lesotho.
The Franco -German manager speaking in a chat with BRL revealed that there is more in the eventual head to head meeting between his new team and Nigeria.
Under the guidance of Gernot Rohr, the Super Eagles beat the Cheetahs in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.
The 70 year-old said, “I can’t wait to meet with my former players and reacquaint once again with old friends I made over time while in charge of the Super Eagles.”
