Manager Brendan Rodgers has explained why Kelechi Iheanacho was left out of Leicester City’s Europa League game against Legia Warsaw.
In a chat with the media on Wednesday, The Northern Irish manager revealed disclosed that, the Super Eagles attacker lacked proper document to enter Poland.
Iheanacho turned away by Polish border control, and will now miss the Thursday game, along with his compatriot Wilfred Ndidi who is suspended after being sent off against Napoli at the King Power Stadium.
“We’ve had an issue with Kelechi. His documentation coming into the country wasn’t sufficient, so he wasn’t able to travel. He will be unavailable for the game.
“The paperwork didn’t allow him to enter the country. We’ll have to look at that when we’re back.” He said.
Leicester City will be hoping to their first victory against Legia Warsaw who are topping the Group, thanks a 1-0 away victory over Spartak Moscow.
