Rivers United are rejigging their squad ahead of the new Nigeria Premier League campaign, and at least ten players have been dropped from the team following the disappointment of last season.

Rivers United failed to defend the league title they won in 2022 and were beaten in the Federation Cup.​

The squad also got booted out of the CAF Confederation Cup and the Club has decided to replace under performing players.

Ten players have now been told to leave at the end of their contract, and they include Bolaji Sakin who arrived from Guinean club, Horoya FC.​

Ihunda Chigozie, Madu Chiamaka, Fabian Nworie and Darlinton Ovunda are also on the list.

Others are: Malachi Ohawume, Akpesiri Naibe, Francis Ifeanyi, Kenechukwu Agu and Chukwudi Lawrence.
