Rivers United has turned down a $150,000 offer from SuperSport United for their star forward, Andy Okpe.

According to club sources, the Premier Soccer League side was keen to secure the 23-year-old striker, but Rivers United remains resolute in their decision.

The club’s refusal to sell Okpe is part of a strategic effort to build a formidable squad for the upcoming season.

Despite the setback, SuperSport United is reportedly preparing an improved bid to entice Rivers United into reconsidering.

Andy Okpe, who joined the former NPFL Champions from Remo Stars, scored eight goals as they finished eighth in the recently concluded NPFL season.
