Rivers United Part ways with Stanley Eguma

Rivers United have part ways with their long-serving head coach, Stanley Eguma.

The decision comes in the wake of a disappointing performance by the team, culminating in a 2-1 loss against Remo Stars.

Eguma, who is the longest serving coach with a single NPFL team, saw his side throw away a first half lead against Remo before succumbing to a 2-1 defeat, in a rescheduled league match.

Following the loss in Ikenne, Eguma promptly left the team and returned to Port Harcourt, leaving assistant coach Evans Ogenyi in charge of their subsequent match against Kwara United, which ended in a goalless draw.

During his tenure, Eguma achieved significant milestones, including clinching the league title and reaching the knockout rounds of both the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup.
