Rivers United recorded their first win in the CAF Confederation Cup group stage by beating ASEC Mimosas 3-0 in Uyo.

Fresh from the 3-0 defeat to Diables Noirs, Stanley Eguma’s side wasted no time to show their intention as they took the lead inside opening minute.

Malachi Ohawume was the goal scorer following Nwagua Nyima’s assist.

Nwagua again was architect of the second goal as set up Ukeme Williams who doubled the advantage with a brilliant strike in the 42nd minute.

Ndasi Denis sealed the three points with the third goal just three minutes after the restart.

Victory takes Rivers United to second on the log with three points from two games.

The Nigerian Champions will next face Motema Pembe next Sunday.
