NPFL side Rivers United has dismissed reports linking the club with former Super Eagles coach, Finidi George.

Several reports over the weekend had linked Finidi with his former club as the 53 year-old remains out of the job since calling time on a short stint as Super Eagles head coach.

Also, the reports were kindled amid the uncertainty about the future of interim boss, Ogenyi Evans, who stepped in after Stanley Eguma was dismissed last season.

Despite the wide speculations, a source within the Port Harcourt club has, categorically, denied Finidi is in contention for the Rivers United top job.

Rivers United concluded the last NPFL season in eighth position and were knocked out in the quarter-finals of the Federation Cup.
