Rivers Hoopers basketball club coach Odaudu Ogoh has stated that the Port Harcourt based side will be the underdog after been drawn in the Nile Conference of the inaugural Basketball Africa League alongside North African heavyweights Zamalek of Egypt, US Monastir of Tunisia, Ferrovario of Mozambique, Forces Amees et Police FAP of Cameroon and Patriot Basketball club of Rwanda.
Ogoh speaking in a chat with www.brila.net described the group as a very tough one and clearly stressed that Rivers Hoopers will be the underdog but however stressed that they won’t also just be going there to participate alone but to measure up to others in the group.
“I think it’s very tough we have two North African teams who have been there forever US Monastir and Zamalek of Egyp, Ferrovario is there Maputo they have been there forever, Patriot are the next rising force in African basketball.
“I think we are going to go in as the underdog but we are not just going to be there to go and participate.”
