Rivers Hoopers Center Victor Anthony Koko shared insights into the team’s performances in the Basketball Africa League, Sahara Conference held last week in Dakar.
In an interview with Brila Media, Koko highlighted the first leg 77-68 win against AS Douanes as the most enjoyable and surprising victory.
This win was particularly significant as the Nigerian Champions were often considered underdogs, making the victory even more impressive.
“The one I enjoyed the most is the first game against AS Douanes because that game for me was a cross match,” Koko said.
“The last time we played, they messed us up,” Koko said. “By the end of the second quarter, they were just playing with us. This time around, they couldn’t believe their eyes.”
However, Koko named the second leg against AS Douanes as the most challenging, where Rivers Hoopers lost by two points.
“The most difficult is the one against AS Douanes. The second game against them that we lost with two points was difficult for me,” he explained.
“We were supposed to win that game. We had the advantage, but the game ended up going head to head.”
Rivers Hoopers will face AS Douanes in one of the four games in the playoffs in Kigali.
