In a dominant display, Rivers Hoopers emerged victorious in the 2023 Nigeria Premier Basketball League Final Four tournament, securing the title in front of their home crowd.

Hoopers showcased their prowess by defeating Nigeria Customs in the final with a convincing 77-57 points win.

The champions had asserted their dominance throughout the tournament, starting with a 67-62 victory over Gboko City Chiefs and a 74-69 win against Hoops and Read in the earlier rounds.

In the final, Hoopers maintained a nine-point lead at the end of each quarter, finishing the first half with a 38-27 points advantage.

The team’s exceptional performance was highlighted by players like Victor Koko and Abel Offia, who delivered outstanding shooting.

Abel Offia’s impressive run, including three consecutive three-pointers in the final quarter, secured the decisive victory.

With this win, Rivers Hoopers completed the entire season, including the Conference and Final Four stages, unbeaten with a perfect record of 13-0.

The team’s remarkable achievement earned them the ticket to represent Nigeria at the prestigious Basketball Africa League (BAL).
