Rigas FS manager, Viktors Morozs has stated that Victor Osimhen poses a greater threat than Mauro Icardi.
Morozs’ team faced Galatasaray in a UEFA Europa League match on Thursday, securing a 2-2 draw.
The Turkish side was without Osimhen, who missed the game due to a muscle injury, and instead relied on Argentine forward Mauro Icardi, who struggled to make a significant impact.
Morozs suggested that the outcome might have been different if the Nigerian had been available to play.
“It would have been a different game if Osimhen had played. He would have brought more strength to Galatasaray. Osimhen is a different kind of player compared to Icardi.
“In my opinion, he could have broken through our defense more easily,” Morozs was quoted as saying by Haber Global.
“Playing against a forward like him would have been much more challenging. His absence today was a disadvantage for Galatasaray.
“Osimhen is a strong and dangerous player, and it would have been difficult for us if he had played,” Morozs concluded.
