According to Il Corriere del Mezzogiorno, Manchester United pulled out of the deal to sign Victor Osimhen over Napoli’s demands.
Manchester United were interested in the Nigeria international and wanted him to come to Old Trafford in a deal that would include Cristiano Ronaldo.
Napoli reportedly demanded for a fee in the region €100m plus Ronaldo on loan for the 23-year-old forward, who has three year left on his deal.
Ronaldo wanted a return to Serie A, with Napoli seen as a possible destination for the Portuguese striker, but the Partenopei were not open to pay most of his salary.
According to Il Corriere del Mezzogiorno, “Red Devils wanted to split the payment of Ronaldo’s wages throughout the season (50% each), offering no more than €80m for Victor Osimhen who should have moved to Old Trafford.”
Napoli, however, turned down the proposal and decided to keep Osimhen at the Club.
