Sporting Lagos secured a 4-1 victory over Remo, marking the Ikenne side’s first South-west derby defeat since 2019.

Played at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, the hosts had three former Remo Players in their ranks — Junior Lokosa, Godwin Odibo, and Philip Odubia.

The trio however made significant during the match for the in form Sporting Lagos.

Odibo earned a penalty within the first five minutes, and Lokosa capitalized on it to give Paul Offor’s side an early lead. Paschal Durugbor extended the advantage in the 27th minute.

Although a 38th-minute own goal by Remo’s Salaudeen Aliu narrowed the gap before halftime, Sporting Lagos dominated the second half.

Philip Odubia showcased his prowess with two additional goals, sealing a convincing 4-1 victory for the hosts.

Sporting Lagos have now lost just once in their last six game.
