Mawuena has recorded one goal and one assist in four matches this season under head coach Daniel Ogunmodede in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
The 31-year-old forward scored five goals in the NPFL last season but missed a significant amount of time due to a major injury.
The forward helped Remo Stars qualified for CAF Champions League back to back.
