Remo Stars Coach Hails Team’s Character
56
Remo Stars’ head coach, Daniel Ogunmodede has praised his team’s resilience following their triumphant home match against Bendel Insurance on Sunday.
The Sky Blue Stars rebounded from their previous defeat to regional rivals Shooting Stars, by securing a 2-0 victory over Insurance at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne.
With this win, Ogunmodede’s squad climbed to the third position in the league standings.
Reflecting on the match against Insurance, the coach shared his insights and thoughts on the team’s performance.
“I just make sure I go for the three points. Every game comes with a different situation and different moments. Maybe in the last three games it was like this. That is what the game entails.
“Most times you have no control over these things. The players have shown that they are key determinants in the game,” he said in a post-match interview.
Despite still having an outstanding game, Remo Stars are currently trailing league leaders Rangers by three points, but they remain in contention for their first Nigeria Premier Football League title.
“Coming from a ground where we lost to 3SC the last time, you know how painful this could be to us and the players want to get back to their winning ways.
“For me, they were a little bit under pressure. The most important thing is how they deal with the pressure which they did well.”
