Super Falcons captain, Rasheedat Ajibade shared her thoughts on playing alongside NWFL players in the International friendly win over Algeria, at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne.
Ajibade’s first-half goals secured the win in the first leg of the friendly double-header.
Interim Coach, Justin Madugu called up a mix of 19 homegrown players and 4 foreign based players.
“This is where I started from and there’s a way we’ve been built,” Ajibade surmised.
“We have to adapt to the situation we find ourselves in, which is where there isn’t so much difference because we have to learn to play with everybody and under any circumstances I found myself.”
“So it’s quite easy for me to adapt because I understand why it is to play in the Nigerian league and also transition to the European league as well.”
Ajibade shared how she seamlessly transitions having played playing in both the Nigerian league and Europe.
“It doesn’t really matter. So I just have to switch my mentality. You’re back home with the Nigerian based players and you just have to adapt.”
The second leg of the friendly game will be held at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena on Tuesday.
