Rasheedat Ajibade Backs New Faces to Shine in Super Falcons

Super Falcons captain, Rasheedat Ajibade is optimistic about the new players called up for the friendly matches against Algeria, saying everyone deserves a chance to prove themselves on the international stage.

Ajibade, speaking ahead of the double-header in Lagos, highlighted the potential of the new faces, noting that they were already strong performers for their respective clubs.

She believes the squad has enough talent and is strong enough to face any challenge Algeria brings.

“The most important thing is that everyone who has the opportunity to play for the team is just about giving it their best. And if you’re giving your best, of course you have the opportunity to play consistently on the team and probably be invited again.”

“They were good players before they were selected at this point to come play for Super Falcons. So there’s no doubt that they will do well in the friendly game.”

“We’ve got the talent, we’ve got the quality on the team and I believe we can play against any team. So we’ll do our best to keep improving, keep getting better.”

Super Eagles Interim Coach invited 19 home based players and just 4 player abroad.

“It’s not easy. A new set of teams and a new set of players, the technical team as well. Of course, we’ve been playing with them, they’ve been with us for a while now. It’s not so easy like that, but we’re going to build up from here.”
