Rangers defender, Leon Balogun says the team’s 1-0 defeat to Kilmarnock at Rugby Park on Sunday should serve as motivation for their upcoming Europa League clash against FCSB.
The loss leaves Rangers six points behind Celtic and Aberdeen after eight Scottish Premiership matches.
With FCSB visiting Ibrox on Thursday night, Balogun sees it as a key moment for the team to respond and get back on track.
“That’s the positive—we can put things right on Thursday,” Balogun said.
“But we have to learn from this defeat. I don’t even want to call it a bump in the road because it’s happened too often already this season.”
Balogun stressed the need for action over words, adding, “We’re due a big performance, and we need to deliver.
I’m not going to make big speeches because the proof is in the pudding—you’ve got to do it on the pitch.”
The Nigeria international also called for consistency across the team.
“We need to make sure we’re focused for the full 90 minutes. If we can’t perform, someone else will be standing here trying to explain things again. We have to show what Rangers is all about in every game.”
Rangers will look to recover from their domestic setback and reignite their season when they face FCSB on Thursday in the Europa League.
