Rangers defeated Abia Warriors retained top position in the Nigeria Premier Football League on Tuesday.

The Oriental derby win at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, saw Rangers edge their neighbors 3-2 to maintain their spot at the summit.

Saviour Isaac put the Flying Antelopes ahead, however the visitors restored parity on the stroke of half-time through Ojonugwa Adejoh.

But the hosts took over the game completely after the restart and Abia Warriors could not provide answers.

Kareem Ogunleye then made it 2-1, before Chidozie Okorie out the game beyond the visitors with the sealer, despite Pascal Nwabueze pulling one back.

The victory takes Rangers tally 54 after 30 round of matches.
