Rangers sneeks into CAF Confederations Cup Group Stage

Nigeria’s representatives in the CAF Confederations Cup Rangers International of Enugu progressed into the group stage of Africa’s second tier club competition after a nervy win ASC Kara.

 

After going down 2-1 in the first leg in Togo, Rangers secured hard fought 1-0 win Enugu to make it 2-2 on agreegate.

 

Chinonso Eziekwe scored the only goal of the game for Rangers in the 17th minute of the keenly contested match.

 

The goal was enough to send Rangers through to the next round of the competition.

 

Meanwhile, Nigeria’s second representatives, Enyimba defeated their host TS Galaxy 2-1 I South Africa on Sunday.

 

The Nigerian Champions ran out 4-1 winner on aggregate to seal group stage qualification.

 

 

Enyimba and Rangers are now through to the Group stage of the competition.
