Kelechi Iheanacho’s Premier League debut for Leicester City ended in a 4-3 defeat for the Foxes as Arsenal snatched all three points with almost 10 minutes left in regulation time of the 2017-18 EPL opener.
The 20-year-old was introduced in the 82nd minute with Leicester leading 3-2, but Olivier Giroud struck for the Gunners as they defeat the away team in a 7-goal thriller.
Substitutes Aaron Ramsey and Olivier Giroud both scored in the 83rd and 85th minutes to secure three points for the gunners in the seven-goal thriller.
Arsenal’s Striker, Alexandre Lacazette scored the opener, but his goal was cancelled out by Shinji Okazaki in the first half.
Leicester City’s Hit-man Jamie Vardy then gave the Foxes the lead, but that was also cancelled when Danny Welbeck struck on the death in the first half.
Vardy’s second came in the second half to restore Leicester’s lead and once again Arsenal levelled before Giroud’s winner.
Wilfred Ndidi started and played 90 minuted for the Foxes while Alex Iwobi was an unused subsitute.
A trend was broken, even if Arsenal aren’t quite completely fixed. The glorious chaos of this match still conformed to some of the old order from opening weekends past for the home side: an injury crisis, consequently cataclysmic defending, and the kind of tension you usually only get at the end of a season, but that this Arsenal always seem to endure in their first game.
Wenger has problems to solve, but then he also has three points, while Alexandre Lacazette has his first goal.
But Ahmed Musa was not listed in the opening game of the 2017-18 EPL season.
