Quadri Headlines WTT Lagos Event

Aruna Quadri is set to headline the second edition of The World Table Tennis contender event in Lagos.

In an announcement on the WTT website, organizers confirmed Quadri’s participation, marking his debut in the contender series on home soil.

 

 

 

The Table tennis star who recently won the ITTF Africa Cup in Kigali, missed the previous edition due to commitments with his former club, Fakel-Gazprom Orenburg, in the Russian league.

Joining Quadri is World number 96 player Omotayo Olajide, who has also secured a spot at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

In the women’s category, top Nigerian stars include Edem Offiong, Fatima Bello, Hope Udoaka, and Ajoke Ojomu will compete also.

At least 28 Nigerian players will vye in the tournament for its $80,000 prize pool, with the champions receiving a significant boost of 400 ITTF Table Tennis World Ranking points.
