The Premier League is no stranger to late drama, but Saturday’s stoppage-time spectacle smashed all records, delivering unforgettable twists and turns across England.
According to Opta, eight goals were scored in the 90th minute or later on Saturday, the most ever in a single day in Premier League history.
A ninth came on Sunday to seal a remarkable weekend.
From thrilling winners to calamitous defensive errors, every goal told a story. Here’s how the unforgettable strikes unfolded:
9. Erling Haaland (90′) — Manchester City vs. Burnley
Final score: Manchester City 5–1 Burnley
Manchester City’s talisman had endured a frustrating afternoon, but finally broke the deadlock in the 90th minute after superb link-up play from Jérémy Doku.
The Norwegian’s late strike set the tone for a goal frenzy that followed across the country.

8. Danny Welbeck (100′) — Brighton vs. Chelsea
Final score: Brighton 3–1 Chelsea
Former Arsenal and Manchester United striker Danny Welbeck added the final flourish deep into stoppage time, poking home his second goal of the day to seal a deserved Brighton win over a depleted Chelsea side.
7. Mathias Jensen (95′) — Brentford vs. Manchester United
Final score: Brentford 3–1 Manchester United
Manchester United were already suffering at the Gtech Community Stadium when Mathias Jensen unleashed a stunning 20-yard blast to make it 3–1 in the 95th minute.
United keeper Altay Bayindir stood rooted as the ball flew in.
6. Eli Kroupi Jr. (93′) — Bournemouth vs. Leeds United
Final score: Bournemouth 1–1 Leeds
Leeds thought they had secured the win, but a late free-kick led to chaos in the box. Teenager Eli Kroupi Jr. pounced to score his first Premier League goal, rescuing a crucial point for Andoni Iraola’s Bournemouth.
5. Maxim De Cuyper (92′) — Brighton vs. Chelsea
Before Welbeck’s clincher, Brighton had already turned the game around through Maxim De Cuyper, who converted Mats Wieffer’s header across goal to give the Seagulls a dramatic lead.
Chelsea, reduced to 10 men after Trevoh Chalobah’s 53rd-minute red card, simply could not hold on.
4. Erling Haaland (93′) — Manchester City vs. Burnley
Haaland’s second of the day came in comical fashion. Two Burnley defenders jumped for the same ball and inexplicably headed it straight into his path.
The Norwegian made no mistake, rolling in City’s fifth in a 5–1 rout.
The Burnley defenders’ furious remonstrations continued even as the ball hit the net. A Premier League blooper for the ages.
3. João Palhinha (94′) — Wolves vs. Tottenham Hotspur
Final score: Wolves 1–1 Tottenham
Wolves were seconds away from their first win of the season, but João Palhinha struck a deliciously curled equaliser from outside the box to crush home fans’ hopes.

2. Eddie Nketiah (97′) — Crystal Palace vs. Liverpool
Final score: Crystal Palace 2–1 Liverpool
The standout moment of the day came at Selhurst Park. Defending champions Liverpool had equalised through Federico Chiesa in the 87th minute.
However, Eddie Nketiah, assisted by former Liverpool target Marc Guéhi, smashed home a 97th-minute winner to stun the Reds and keep Palace unbeaten.
“Beating Liverpool to remain unbeaten right at the end. Scenes.” Palace wrote.
The goal had layers of drama: two unbeaten sides, a former Arsenal player delivering the blow, and Guéhi making a statement against the club that tried to sign him in the summer.
1. Gabriel Magalhaes (90+5) – Newcastle vs Arsenal
Final score: Newcastle 1–2 Arsenal
Newcastle took the lead in the first-half of the game through new signing, Wick Woltemade. They held the lead for most of the game till Merino changed the game, levelling it up for Arsenal in the 85th minutes.
In what could be the last corner of the game, Gabriel sent in a strong header, past Nick Pope to snatch a late win for Arsenal at St. James Park on Sunday.
