Plateau United Unfazed, Still Focused on Earning Playoff Spot – Onyebuchi
102
Plateau United Defender Ifeanyi Onyebuchi has revealed his disappointment with the team’s 3-2 defeat to Gombe United.
Onyebuchi, however, insists that the result will not slow down Plateau United’s top three ambition.
Plateau United were on a four-game unbeaten streak and they were on course to securing a point, but we’re dealt a crushing blow by Gombe United who snatched a late winner courtesy a dying minute penalty.
“Right now, we are fourth position in the table, I don’t think this defeat will cost us finishing in the top three,” the defender told BRL.
“We still have nine games to play in the second round and we five of them are home games, so we have a bigger chance and opportunity to make the top three.”
“The Gombe game cannot weigh us down, although we are not happy because the scoreline was 2-2 until the final moments, before the penalty.”
