AC Milan’s head coach Stefano Pioli, has disclosed that Samuel Chukwueze will be in the starting lineup for today’s Serie A showdown against Genoa at the San Siro stadium.

In a press conference held on Saturday, Pioli revealed his strategy for the crucial match, as the Rossoneri seek to break their winless streak of five matches.

Pioli explicitly stated, “I’ll tell you beforehand; there’s some who’ll write it as soon as they leave here; tomorrow (Sunday), Pulisic, Leao, Chukwueze, and Giroud are playing,” indicating Chukwueze’s inclusion from the start.

Explaining his selection, Pioli added, “If I didn’t choose them other times, it’s because I thought that other types of characteristics were needed more to win the games.”

Chukwueze, has struggled for adequate game time since arriving in Milan from Villarreal.

The Nigerian has featured in 22 Serie A matches (mostly as a substitute) for Milan, scoring once and providing two assists.

He is expected to prove his worth to Pioli and bring his flair and pace to the team’s attacking lineup.

Across all competitions, Samuel Chukwueze has made 31 appearances, finding the net three times and assisting twice.
