Kano Pillars player Emmanuel Bature Yaro has revealed that it was all joy in the camp of Kano Pillars after finally winning the elusive Federation cup title following a 5-4 penalties shoot out win over Niger Tornadoes after the two sides had ended game goalless at regulation and extra time.
Yaro speaking in a chat with www.brila.net after the Federation cup triumph said the win has brought joy to the fans as well as the players who were promised a thousand dollar($1000) each by the Kano state Governor for a win before the start of the game.
“The trophy has never been to Kano and we thank God we won it. Irrespective of the continental ticket we had going into the game we were going for the trophy.
We are happy for the prestige this will bring to the people of Kano state because they have been behind us come rain, come sun. And we prayed and promised the trophy which we did.
There were promises and we know Kano Pillars do fulfil promises. The Governor came and promised each of us a thousand dollar before the game.”
