Kevin Durant played a pivotal role in the Phoenix Suns’ 116-113 win against the Los Angeles Clippers on Thursday, as the Suns got their off their NBA season off with a hard-fought victory.
Durant scored 25 points, while teammate Bradley Beal added 24 to help secure the win.
The Suns overcame a strong performance from Clippers star James Harden, who tallied 29 points and 12 rebounds.
Ivica Zubac also contributed 21 points for the Clippers, but it wasn’t enough to avoid the defeat.
The Suns will look to build on this momentum when they face the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday.
Meanwhile, the Clippers are set to travel to Denver to take on the Nuggets on Saturday.
In other NBA action, Stephen Curry led the Golden State Warriors with 17 points as they dominated the Portland Trail Blazers in a 139-104 blowout victory.
The Orlando Magic defeated the Miami Heat 116-97, and the Milwaukee Bucks secured a 124-109 win over the Philadelphia 76ers.
On Tuesday, LA Lakers defeated Minnesota Timberwolves 110-103 with LeBron James and his son Bronny featuring for the Coach JJ Reddick side.
