General Manager of Shooting stars sports club of Ibadan and a member of the NNL club owners forum Rasheed Balogun has stated that petitions and cases filed against the Nigeria Football Federation will continue to delay the start of the NNL.
Balogun speaking in a no holds barred session with www.brila.net said the same thing happened when a sponsorship deal worth 38million USD from Fox was coming only to receive another round of petition.
He said now that the NFF and Sports minister have two companies they are talking to again ahead of the commencement of the NNL, he is sure another petition will surface which will again cause another delay.
“I’m not sure the league will be able to commence on the 14th March, the reason why is a lot of sponsors have shown their interest in the past.
“Fox came with 38 million USD, the next thing is a petition and until the people writing petition realise the damage they are doing. If they want to petition they should petition Diko alone or Amaju alone not the NFF or be fighting sponsorships.
“This 14th of March is not feasible because these two sponsorships that is coming now, I know between now and then, there will be petition again.”
