Peseiro Wants More Goals From Attackers

Ahead of Wednesday’s Africa Cup of Nations semi-final against South Africa, Jose Peseiro has admitted there is need for his team to improve their attacking display.

The Super Eagles reached the last four, scoring six goals along the way, despite possessing one of the best attacking players in the competition.

Despite creating numerous scoring opportunities in their last outing, against Angola, the team only managed to score one goal.

“The team could have created more opportunities and scored more goals,” Peseiro said.

“We are a quality team, with great attacking talents. We are getting in the vital position. We have to score more, but we had more luck.

“I remain satisfied with my players, but want us to be more efficient.”

Peseiro’s side boast of the best defensive record in the competition, with just one goal conceded from five matches.

Nigeria will take on South Africa, this Wednesday, for a place in the AFCON final.
