Former Super Eagles head coach, Jose Peseiro is a leading candidate for the head coaching position at Al Riyadh. 

The Portuguese tactician has been out of work since guiding Nigeria to a successful outing at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire.

Despite being linked with managerial roles in Algeria and Cameroun, Peseiro remains out of the job.

However, recent reports from Saudi Arabia have indicated that the Portuguese is one of two candidates being considered to replace current Al Riyadh head coach, Odair Hellmann.

Al Riyadh’s management is reportedly dissatisfied with Hellmann’s performance, as the team finished a disappointing 14th in the Arabia Pro League last season, in spite of the squad’s strength.

Jose Peseiro is no stranger to Saudi Arabian football, having managed Al Hilal in 2006 and later the Saudi national team during their 2010 World Cup qualifying campaign.

According to the reports, Peseiro is set to face stiff competition from Spanish coach Javier Pereira for the Al Riyadh job.
