Center Back, Semi Ajayi returned from injury after few weeks on the sideline and got a goal in West Brom’s 3-1 victory against Hull City on Saturday, in a Championship match.
Ajayi, 29, returned to training on Friday, after missing West Brom’s clash against Plymouth Argyle two weeks ago.
The Nigeria International came off the bench in the second half to score his side’s third goal at the Hawthorns against the Tigers.
He reportedly suffered a knee injury, however West Brom’s gaffer provided a positive update on the player.
“Jeremy Sarmiento and Semi Ajayi are two players who, if they complete the training session on Friday, can be part of the matchday squad on Saturday,” Corberan told the club’s official website.
“They both trained on Thursday with the group and they came through that fine.
“It’s always really positive to add players back to your squad when you have been missing plenty of them in recent weeks.
“With Semi, we have one more option at centre-back and he was playing in the first XI at the start of the season.”
Ajayi’s return will come as a huge relief for Super Eagles Head coach, Jose Peseiro ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup
qualifiers against Lesotho and Zimbabwe.
Nigeria will host Lesotho at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo on November 16, before traveling to Bature for the clash against Zimbabwe four days later.
