Peseiro owed Six-month Salary… unpaid since becoming Super Eagles Coach

The Ministry of Sports have admitted Jose Peseiro is yet to receive a salary since taking charge of the Super Eagles.

According to reports, Peseiro has only received allowances and bonuses, but yet to be paid his salaries and he’s running out of patience with the Nigerian authority.

The Sport Ministry is responsible for the payment of Peseiro’s salary, according to the agreed signed.

The Ministry however faulted the delay on processes for receiving funds from the federal government.

 

A special adviser to sports minister Sunday Dare, Mr Toyin Ibitoye says everything is under control and the Portuguese will be receive his payment sooner.

 

“The issue of Peseiro’s payment will be resolved soon with the understanding of the federation and the coach,” Toyin Ibitoye told the BBC.

 

“Everything is being worked on and we are quite confident that very soon it will be sorted,” He said.

 

Peseiro was appointed six months ago, as successor to sacked Gernot Rohr.

 

The Portuguese will lead Nigeria out against Costa Rica next week.
