Peseiro gives Update on Contract Situation

Super Eagles coach Jose Peseiro confirmed that he has less than 16 days remaining on his contract with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

However, discussions are underway between the NFF and Peseiro for a possible extension.

The Portuguese football tactician guided the Super Eagles to the final of the recently concluded Africa Cup of Nations, sparking conversations about his future with the team.

Peseiro’s contract is set to expire on March 1, 2024, making him a free agent eligible to consider offers from other teams.

When questioned about his intentions to continue as Nigeria’s manager, Peseiro stated, “My contract ends at the end of this month. Now I go to rest and I am speaking with the NFF to know about my future.

“Now I need to rest as I’m very tired, everybody is tired but we are speaking together about my future.”

In recognition of the team’s impressive performance in Cote D’Ivoire, Peseiro was recently conferred a national honor (MON), a residence, and land in Abuja by Nigeria’s President, Bola Tinubu.
