Nigerian striker, Paul Onuachu is reportedly set to join Ligue 1 club, Metz on a season-long loan deal.

According to French news outlet, L’Equipe, Southampton has given the green light for Onuachu to join Metz for the new season.

The Forward moved to Southampton from the Belgian Pro League side, KRC Genk, in January.

However, despite his efforts, he could not help Genk avoid relegation.

The 29-year-old will replace Georges Mikautadze, who recently moved to Eredivisie giants, Ajax.

During his time at Southampton last season, Onuachu did not manage to score a goal in 12 appearances.

However, prior to his move to Southampton, he had a successful stint at Genk, scoring an impressive 85 goals in 134 appearances for the Belgian club.
