Team Nigeria’s Tobi Sijuade has been eliminated from the Men’s 50m Freestyle event at the Paris Olympics.
Sijuade competed in heat 5, where he secured a third-place finish with a time of 23.34 seconds.
Despite his efforts, the Nigerian swimmer time was not sufficient to advance to the semifinals.
Only the top 16 fastest swimmers from all 10 heats moved forward in the competition, and Sijuade’s performance fell short of this benchmark.
Attending his first Olympics, Sijuade, who is Nigeria’s sole representative in the swimming event at this summer games, viewed the experience as a valuable learning opportunity.
