The coach of Nigeria’s wrestling team, Purity Akuh has expressed strong confidence in the team, and believes the Athletes will bring pride to the nation at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

Acknowledging the Wrestler’s preparation and support from the Ministry of Sports, Akuh noted that all has put them in good stead for the Games.

“Currently, the team is in Germany for the foreign training tour, making our final preparations for the Olympic Games,” Akuh said.

“The team is in good spirits, and this place is so quiet and conducive, providing us with modern facilities that our wrestlers are utilizing. It’s like a hideout where we can plan and strategize to win at the Olympic Games.”

Nigeria’s Wrestling contingent is scheduled to depart Germany for France this weekend, and the Coach has appealed for fans to rally support for the athletes.

“The team is expected to leave on the 28th of this month. By the grace of God, I know we’ll do well.

“We have the current world number two, Odunayo Adekuoroye, and Olympic silver medalist Blessing Oborodudu in the team,” he confirmed.

” We also have other young, talented girls who are ready to challenge and win medals for Nigeria. So everything being equal, by the grace of God, we will do well. I just want Nigerians and our fans to keep praying for us. We’re ready to go.”
