Nigerian sprinter and Tokyo 2020 Olympic 100m finalist Enoch Adegoke is hopeful Team Nigeria can gather medals at the ongoing Olympics tournament in Athletics.

Adegoke made history in 2021 as the first Nigerian man in 25 years to run in the final of the 100m event at the Olympics after Davidson Ezinwa in 1996.

The 24 yar-old maintained while Team Nigeria might not have done well in other competitions, Athletes is always open until you cross the finish line.

While acknowledging the fact that Nigerian athletes have done well this season in athletics, Adegoke emphasized that, “we (Team Nigeria) have the possibility of gathering medals in the sport (athletics).”

He further added that, “we have a lot representatives in more events than in the past which gives us more medal chances.”
