Paris 2024: Super Falcons Ready for Ethiopia, Ucheibe Withdraws

Nigeria WNT is et to take on Ethiopia in the CAF 2024 Women’s Football Olympics qualifiers.

Ethiopia will host Nigeria in the first-leg at the Abebe Bekila Stadium in Addis Ababa this Wednesday, while the return leg is scheduled for Tuesday, October 31, at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja.

The Super Falcons aim to secure a place at the 2024 Olympics in Paris after missing out on the 2016 and 2020 editions.

In the first round of the qualifiers, the Super Falcons received a bye, while Today’s opponent, Ethiopia’s Lucy, advanced by eliminating Chad with a convincing 10-0 aggregate victory.

Ethiopia won the first leg 6-0 in Addis Ababa and 4-0 victory in N’Djamena.

Meanwhile, not all the Players invited by Randy Waldrum will honor the games. Christie Ucheibe announced that she would miss the Ethiopia tie.

Meanwhile, US-based forward Ifeoma Onumonu missed Tuesday’s training session, but is expected to join the squad later.

The winner of the tie will go on to face the winner of the fixture between Cameroon and Uganda in the next round.

The Lioness of Cameroon also received a bye, while Uganda overcame Rwanda with a 4-3 aggregate victory.
