Team Nigeria’s Rosemary Chukwuma secured her place in the semifinals of the women’s 100m at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
Chukwuma finished third in her heat (5) with a time of 11.26 seconds.
Ewa Swoboda of Poland won the heat, clocking a Season’s Best of 10.99 seconds, followed by Great Britain’s Dina Asher-Smith in second place with 11.01 seconds.
In other news, Nigeria’s Tima Godbless missed out on a semifinal spot, finishing her heat in 11.33 seconds, which was not enough to secure a top-three qualification.
Additionally, Favour Ofili was unable to compete in the women’s 100m heats despite Nigeria’s appeals for her registration.
