In a dramatic round of 64 match in men’s singles table tennis at the Paris 2024 Olympics, Quadri Aruna was eliminated by Romania’s Eduard Ionescu.
Aruna initially dominated, winning the first three sets 11-8, 11-9, and 11-6.
However, Ionescu made a strong comeback, taking the fourth and fifth sets 11-8 and 12-10.
The match was tied 3-3 after Ionescu won the sixth set 11-9. In the decisive seventh set, Ionescu emerged victorious with a score of 13-11, thus advancing to the next round.
Aruna who is making his fourth consecutive appearance at the Olympics will regret the outcome of the match.
