Nigerian weightlifter Folashade Rafiatu Lawal narrowly missed out on a medal in the Women’s 59kg event, finishing 5th with a total lift of 230kg.
Lawal fell short by 5kg of securing a spot on the podium.

Despite the setback, Lawal delivered an impressive performance, setting a new personal best in the Clean & Jerk by lifting 5kg more than her previous record.
As the reigning Commonwealth champion, Lawal remains a strong contender for the upcoming Olympics, where she is expected to be a key competitor.
