Nigeria’s Udodi Onwuzuruike has qualified for the semi-finals of the men’s 200m in Paris.
Onwuzuruike clocked a time of 20.51 seconds, narrowly edging out Italy’s Diego Pettorossi, who finished second with a time of 20.53 seconds.
He will compete in Heat 3 of the semifinals, where he will face strong contenders, including Liberia’s Joseph Fahnbulleh, South Africa’s Wayde Van Niekerk, and the USA’s Erriyon Knighton.
Meanwhile, Chinecherem Prosper Nnamdi represented Nigeria in the men’s javelin event.
Nnamdi placed 14th in his qualification group with a throw of 77.53 meters, falling short of advancing to the final.
