Super Falcons Head Coach Randy Waldrum has called up Ifeoma Onumonu to replace veteran midfielder Halimatu Ayinde in the Olympics squad.
Ayinde, initially named among the final 18 players by Waldrum, was forced to withdraw due to her injury, which will sideline her for several weeks.
The decision to call up Onumonu from the alternate list comes as a necessity to fill the void left by Ayinde’s absence from the squad.
In response to this adjustment, the 67 year-old American has also added Regina Otu to the alternate list.
The Super Falcons, is intensifying their training in Seville, ahead of the Olympic Games where they will compete in group C alongside Brazil, Spain, and Japan.
